Stag Do T-Shirts: Funny, Rude and Personalised Ideas for Every Lad
Every stag do has the same moment. Someone in the group chat says "are we doing shirts?", everyone says yes, and then nobody does anything until four days before the flight. This is the guide for whoever ends up doing it.
There are two ways to do stag do t-shirts well. You can put the groom on them, or you can give every lad his own shirt that roasts him specifically. The best stag parties do both: one custom shirt for the groom (or of the groom), and a different funny t-shirt for everyone else.
Option one: put the groom on the shirt
"Stag do t-shirts with a photo" is one of the first things Google suggests when you search for stag shirts, and it makes sense. A printed photo of the groom does more than any slogan. It works best when the photo is one he would never have agreed to.
Design your own stag t-shirt
Our Design Your Own T-Shirt is a blank tee with a designer built into the page. You upload photos, type your own text, and move everything wherever you want it on the front. You can resize and tilt things, pick from a dozen fonts and change the text colour. What you see in the preview is what we print.
The classic personalised stag do t-shirt layout is simple: a line of text at the top, a photo of the groom in the middle, the place and year at the bottom. "Dave's Last Night of Freedom", a photo of Dave holding a pint, "Benidorm 2026" underneath. It comes in black, white, pink and light blue, from S to 3XL, so you can put the groom in a different colour from the rest of the group.
The bootleg rap tee version
If you want the shirt to look like it came off a market stall in 1994, use the Vintage Bootleg Custom t-shirt. You upload photos, the background gets removed automatically, and you arrange the faces in that 90s tour-shirt layout with lightning, sparkles and gold lettering. The groom goes in the middle and his worst mates go round the edges. There is a longer guide to it in how to make a custom bootleg t-shirt.
Option two: a different funny shirt for every lad
One of the biggest orders we have ever had was sixteen shirts for one group of lads, and no two were the same. The organiser picked a different rude t-shirt for each person, to match something everyone already says about them. The shirts do the roasting so the best man's speech doesn't have to.
Here are the ones that get picked most, and who they are for.
For the one who is losing his hair
The More Hair I Lose the More Head I Get is a 90s bootleg-style collage of bald and balding men with the slogan in red chrome letters. It takes the thing he is sensitive about and turns it into a boast, which is the kindest thing a stag do will do for him all weekend.
For the short one
Short King and Proud. Every group has one. He has heard all the jokes already, so give him a shirt that gets there first.
For the single one who talks a big game
Rizz God (I Can't Speak to Women) is for the lad who says this is his weekend and then spends it talking to the barman. If he is actually more successful than that, the Milf Hunter shirt, a photo collage of men in camouflage, is the other direction.
For the one who will be sick first
Yeah I've Got a PHD (Pretty Huge Drinking Problem) is for the lad who treats a stag weekend like a sporting event. Too Drunk to Cum, Too Sad to Cry is for the same lad on the Saturday night, printed over a collage of very cute animals.
For the beer drinkers
I'm Beersexual puts a pride-style flag in lager colours across the chest. LGBT: Let's Get Beers Tonight is the same idea with a grid of pint photos. Both are easy wins for the lads who don't want anything too rude.
For the tequila one
My Favourite Spirit: Tequila has a ghost in a sombrero on it. It is one of the few shirts here you could wear to the airport without anyone blinking, and it is also available as a tank top for a hot-weather stag.
For the golf stag
If the weekend involves eighteen holes, somebody needs Sinking Putts Banging Sluts. It is a photo collage of golfers and it is the reason the clubhouse will ask you to change.
For the pool day
Swim Fast Eat Ass is illustrated sharks and one very clear instruction. Ideal for the villa, and for the group photo on the lilo.
For the one who is always skint
Gambling Addict is for the mate who has already asked to borrow twenty quid before the flight. Family Disappointment, a collage of raccoons and possums, is for his brother.
For the ones you can say anything to
Every group has a lad whose shirt can be as rude as you like. Micro Penis Club President comes with a proper club crest. It Burns When I Pee has a screaming skull on it, and it will start a conversation you can't finish in front of his mum. The rest of the shortlist is in our For the Boys collection, which we built around what group organisers actually order.
For the groom, after the stag
I'm a Slut for My Wife is embroidered in small black lettering, so from a few feet away it looks like a plain tee. It is a good one to give him at the end of the weekend, for the honeymoon.
Stag do t-shirt ideas: what to write on them
If you are designing your own, these are the formats that work:
- The countdown: "[Name]'s Last Night of Freedom", "Game Over", "The Final Lap".
- The job title: give everyone a role for the weekend. The Groom, The Best Man, The Designated Liability, The One Who Books the Taxi, The Wallet.
- The place and year: "Benidorm 2026", "Prague 2026". It turns the shirt into a souvenir and stops it being worn to work.
- The nickname: whatever the group already calls him. If you have to explain it, it is the wrong nickname.
- The photo: the groom at his least flattering. School photos, old holiday photos and anything from his first year at uni work best.
How to organise stag do t-shirts without losing your mind
- Get sizes early. Put a message in the group chat with a deadline. Anyone who doesn't reply gets a large.
- Order in fours. Our Buy 3 Get 1 Free offer covers our t-shirts, tank tops and crop tops, including the Design Your Own and bootleg custom tees, and it keeps counting as the basket grows. Every fourth shirt is free, which adds up when you are buying for a whole group.
- Leave time. Every shirt is printed to order. Order at least three weeks before the weekend so you are not tracking parcels on the morning of the flight.
- Check the preview on custom shirts. Personalised shirts are printed exactly as designed, so check the spelling of the groom's name before you pay.
- Pick one day for the shirts. Usually the travel day or the first night out. They look best in the airport photo.
Stag do t-shirt questions
Should the groom wear a different shirt?
Yes. The easiest way is the same design in a different colour, or a custom shirt with his own face on it while everyone else wears a roast shirt. He should be easy to spot in every photo.
Can I put a photo on a stag do t-shirt?
Yes. The Design Your Own tee takes several photos and lets you place them anywhere on the front. The bootleg custom tee removes the background from your photos automatically. We can't print photos of celebrities, so use pictures of people you know.
Do we all need matching shirts?
No, and the groups that don't match usually have better photos. A different funny shirt for each lad gives everyone a character for the weekend. If you want the group to look like a group, keep everyone in the same colour.
What if some of the lads don't want anything rude?
Give them the drinking shirts or a custom shirt with the groom on it. Nobody minds wearing a photo of their mate holding a pint.
